Gail Teresa Ferguson, age 52, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS.
Gail Teresa (Reed) Ferguson was born on April 14, 1960 in Perth, Scotland to Douglas Walter Reed and Mabel (Sword) Selvey. She moved to the United States when she was nine years old and resided in Oklahoma.
She married Gary Allen Ferguson on April 17, 1981. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2006.
Gail was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and catering, being a caretaker, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Ferguson and a sister, Dawn Ann Reed.
Survivors include her mother and step-father, Mabel and Vernon Selvey of Waynoka, OK; father, Douglas Reed of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; two sisters, Diana Atwater and her husband Russell of Wichita, KS; Debbie Roundtree and her husband Sam of Wellington, KS; brother, Matthew Sword of Sweden; step-brothers, Mike Selvey and his wife Dawn of San Angelo, TX, Jeff Selvey and his wife Lisa of Waynoka, OK, Rick Selvey and his wife Cynthia of Alva, OK; and step-sister, Carlene Thompson and her husband Bobby of Oklahoma City, OK; step-children, Jerri Sue Ferguson, Tim Ferguson and his wife Renee, Kristi Whaley and her husband Travis all of Wellington, KS and Steve Ferguson and his wife Janell of Kansas City, MO; aunt, Grace Priest of Melbourne, Australia; step-grandchildren, Jordyn and Karly Ferguson, Chad, Ashlyn and Kelsey Whaley, and Eva Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens on January 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Ken Hansen will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Memorial Funds have been established with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
