Obituary

Gregorio N. Caudillo, age 80, life long Wellington resident, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at his home in Wellington. He was a self-employed musician and also a vocational trainer for KETCH for many years. He served for 25 years in the National Guard.

Gregorio N. Caudillo was born on April 25, 1931 in Wellington, KS to Juan Caudillo and Delfina (Diaz) Caudillo. He was a 1950 graduate of Wellington High School. He attended Southwestern College where he played football for two years. He then transferred to Wichita University.

He was an avid Wellington Crusader and Kansas University sports fan. He was co-founder along with his brother, Julio Caudillo, of the Wellington Youth Football Program. Gregorio was a trumpeter and through the years played for many different bands including the Caudillo Latin Brass and the Pedro Caudillo Orchestra.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Julio; and two sisters, Valentina and Antonia.

Survivors include his brother Pedro Caudillo of Wichita, KS and many nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 7:00 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church. Father Lawrence Carney will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Parkinson's Association. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
