Obituary

Harold Everett McKee, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Harold was formerly a life long resident of Wellington, KS, before moving to Blue Springs, MO in 2008 to be near his son and family. He had worked as a supervisor for The Boeing Company for 35 years before retiring in 1985.

Harold Everett McKee was born on January 8, 1923 in Wellington, KS to Wallace Clarence McKee and Lizzie Jenevieve (Fisher) McKee.

On October 30, 1942 he married Mary Ethel Wright in Wellington, KS.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He particularly enjoyed the game of golf and had even shot four holes in one, three at the golf course in Wellington and one at a golf course in Rigby, Idaho. He also like to fish and travel. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wellington. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Wellington Elks Lodge #1167 and had placed 3rd in the Elks National Ritual Team Competition in New York City in 1964.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Wagonsellar; and brother, Carl McKee.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary McKee, 111 NW Mock Ave, Blue Springs, MO 64014; two sons, Maurice McKee and wife Kathie of Blue Springs, MO and Darryl McKee of San Diego, CA; three granddaughters, Kimberly Riesberg of Des Moines, IA, Lisa Thibault of Blue Springs, MO and Shellie Mitchell of Lebannon, MO; two great granddaughters and seven great grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church, 123 W. 9th St, Wellington, KS 67152 at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Pastor Don Bryant will officiate with Sallie Shore assisting. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Frank Funeral Home, 417 N. Washington Ave, Wellington, KS 67152 has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers you may choose to donate to a memorial that has been established with the First Christian Church. Contributions can also be left at the funeral home.
