Harold Leroy Saltkill, age 60, of Wellington, KS passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at his home. He was the owner and operator of Harold's Barber Shop.
Harold Leroy Saltkill was born on October 30, 1947 in Springfield, MO to Bill Junior Saltkill and Ruby (Davis) Saltkill.
He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Viet Nam era.
He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, doing nice things for people, and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Saltkill; his Dad, Red Cantrell, one brother, Jim Saltkill, and one step-son, Wally Jackson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Saltkill of Wellington, KS; son, Harold Dean Saltkill and his wife Kat of Wellington, KS; daughters, Kristie Newman and her husband Bill, Traci Stallings and her husband Jason both of Wellington, KS and Shannon Hill of Amarillo, TX; mother, Ruby Cantrell of Woodward, OK; sister, Donna Everhart and her husband Gorden of Mooreland, OK; 14 grandchildren, one great grandson; and two step-sons, Ronny Graham of OK and Travis Graham of CO.
He will be deeply missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God Church in Wellington. Pastor J. R. McElhannon will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington Food Bank. Contributions can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
