Obituary

Hubert Richard Heasty, age 86, passed away Saturday evening, January 26, 2013 at his home. He was a retired farmer and stockman and a life-long resident of the Mayfield, KS area.

Hubert Richard Heasty was born on May 17, 1926 in Wellington, KS to Hugh Richard Heasty and Ruth Louise (Armstrong) Heasty.

He married Marjorie Louise Pohlenz on September 2, 1944 in Norman, OK.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; daughter, Kathryn Jones; and brother, Duane Heasty.

Survivors include one son, Duane Heasty of Mayfield, KS; two daughters, Doris Kendrick and her husband Jim of Clearwater, KS and Donna Kramer and her husband Dennis of Winfield, KS; two granddaughters raised by Hubert and Marjorie, Trinna Brittian of Wichita, KS and Starla Turner and her husband Bryan of Mayfield, KS; two brothers, Dale Heasty and his wife Neola of Mayfield, KS and Dwight Heasty and his wife Gwendolyn of Midlouthian, VA grandchildren, Mark Kendrick and his wife Pam, Mike Kendrick and his wife Krissi, Scott Pontious and his wife Tina, JoDee Clarkson and her husband David, Darcy Megaw and her husband Tristan, Tripp Hamby and his wife Monica, Kristen Best and her husband Rody, Tony Leatherman and his wife Stephanie, Chris Caywood and his wife Denise; 26 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, William Pohlenz of Wellington, KS and Howard Pohlenz of Gilbert, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wellington Church of Christ at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Mr. Gary Bodine, minister at the Wellington Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Union Chapel Cemetery at rural Mayfield, KS.

Visitation will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with Harden Hospice and the Mayfield Community Building Fund. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
