Obituary

Ila Lee (Davis) Langford Shue went home with Jesus on July 8, 2011. She lived 86 years and seven months under the loving care of her physician, Dr. Faustino Naldoza, and was attended to by the caring staff of Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Oxford, and Hospice Care of Kansas. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church, 305 N. Jefferson, Wellington, KS.

Ila was born December 8, 1924 to George R. and Inez F. (Bogle) Davis in Wellington, KS. She later moved to Belle Plaine, KS with her parents where she attended school. After high school she moved to Wichita and went to work at Boeing to help in the war effort.

On September 14, 1944 she was united in marriage with A. W. (Dan) Langford, and they had five children. Dan passed away May 20, 1975. Others preceding her in death are her parents; infant daughter, Dana Kay; daughter, Jana Jo; three sisters and six brothers, Dorothy, Lela, Donna, Harold Forrest, Merwin (Blackie), Eldon, Max, Norman, James Galen, Carlos Wayne; and former husband, Ken Shue.

Starting as a nurses' aide in 1957, she moved on to inhalation therapy, retiring as head of housekeeping after 25 years at St. Lukes's Hospital.

Ila enjoyed several years in Sweet Adeline's, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Michael Langford of Wellington; two daughters, Judy (Bruce) Branson of Hutchinson, Randy (Dan) Hoobler of Independence; brother, Gary Davis of Grove, OK; sister-in-law, Tiny Davis of Victoria, TX; brother-in-law, Nelson McKinney of Amarillo, TX; three step-children, John (Kathleen) Shue, Barbara (David) Heatly, and Deborah Woods; grandchildren, Michele Maupin Ford, Lisa Maupin Tolbert, Brandi Branson (Elissa), Jamey (Alicia) Branson, Rachel Kondret, Cathi (Paul) Scarborough, Michael J. Langford (Becca), 19 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many others who thought of her as mom. We all love you and will miss you greatly!

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Grace Baptist Church and Hospice Care of Kansas. Donations can be made through Frank Funeral Home.
