J. E. "Bill" Williams, age 83, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Rossville Health & Rehabilitation in Rossville, KS. He was a carman for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 44 years of service.
Bill served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was married to Phyllis E. McCreary on June 11, 1947 in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death in December of 1991.
Survivors include his son, Bob Williams and his wife Deana of Harveyville, KS; three daughters, Debbie McPherson of Topeka, KS, Kay Pion of Harveyville, KS, Janet Merchant of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Daisy Policy of Gila Bend, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Sallie Shore of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Association of Topeka. Memorials can be mailed or left at the funeral home.
