James Edward "Ed" Brawley, age 89, passed away Wednesday night, July 21, 2021  at Ascension Living Via Christi Village in Wichita, KS.  He was the owner of Brawley Investments.

Ed was born on March 28, 1932 in Afton, OK to Clifford P. Brawley and Lois (Harber) Brawley. He graduated from Springfield, MO High School in 1951.  He then joined the United States Navy to serve in the Korean War until he was discharged in 1955.

He married Eileen Weichman on February 23, 1958.  They were married 31 years before Eileen's passing in 1989.

When he decided golf was not for him, he bought his first rental house and that became his passion.  At one time he owned more than 50 rentals.  He was an extremely generous man and his friends knew they could find him some evenings having a drink at the round table.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eileen.

Survivors include his three children, son, Jim and his wife Terry of Wellington; two daughters, Jennifer Reinke and her husband Dale and Julie Rodriguez and her husband Carlos all of Wichita; one sister, Ann Willis and nephew, Mike; two grandchildren, Ashley Brawley and Lindsay Zimmerman and her husband, Daniel; three great grandchildren, Paxton, Cohen, and Briar Zimmerman.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.  The family will be present to greet friends.

There will be a private family burial at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society.  Donations can be left at the funeral home.
