James "Jim" Fredric Lockhart, age 74, Wellington, KS resident, passed away at his home on Saturday evening, March 19, 2022. He was a retired truck driver.
Jimmy, as referred to by his family, was born on February 7, 1948 in Blackwell, Ok to James H. Lockhart and Margaret (Flickinger) Lockhart. He served in the United States Army from March 31, 1969 to January 12, 1971.
He married Sherry K. (Dugan) Dixon on June 30, 2012 in Branson, MO.
Jim was an active member of Tom Schwinn Post #90. He served as Commander for several terms as well as Vice Commander. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, NASCAR, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cliff Lockhart.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lockhart of Wellington, KS; son, James M. Lockhart and Maria Hernandez of Caldwell, KS; daughter, Stephenie Lockhart Dugan and her husband Dusty of Wellington, KS; step-son, Arlen Dixon of Oklahoma City, OK; step-daughter, Stephenie Dixon of Manhattan, KS; three sisters, DeAnne Flippin of Edmond, OK, Colette Iverson and her husband Dave of Howard, OH, Mary Jane Alvarez and her husband Manuel of Chihuahua, Mexico; grandchildren, Peighton Westmoreland of Derby, KS, Ally Westmoreland of Wichita, KS, Kadence Westmoreland of Wellington, KS, Parker Gressel of South Haven, KS, Paysley Lockhart of Caldwell, KS, Preslie Langford of Caldwell, KS; two brother-in-laws, Mike Dugan and his wife Marsha of Wellington, KS and Rick Dugan and his wife Karen of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Cathy Dugan of Wellington, KS; step-grandchildren, Eli, Hayden, Georgia, and Kelce Coleman all of Wichita, KS, and Madison Swope of Newkirk, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, KS on April 8, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
A Memorial has been established with the American Legion Tom Schwinn Post #90 in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
