Obituary

James (Jim) Charles Yearout, age 83, of Harrah, OK, passed away October 31, 2019.  Jim was a retired Veterans Counselor for the Oklahoma State Employment Service.

Jim was born on January 23, 1936 in Sumner County, KS to Harry Yearout and Alma (Stocking) Yearout. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Wellington High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from July of 1955 to 1969 and in the United States Army from 1969 to his retirement on December 31, 1975. Through his enlisted years he served several tours in Viet Nam.

He married Kay (Katie) F. Sauve on December 14, 1974 in Dillon, SC. They celebrated 44 years of marriage.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrah, OK; V.F.W; American Legion; DAV; TREA; and MOPH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katie Yearout; step-daughter, Faith Urfer; and two brothers, Robert and Jack Yearout.

Survivors include his step-son, Justin Wohlschlegel and his wife Valerie; daughter, Shaila Maria Yearout; sister, Betty Popplewell; grandchildren, Zak and Grace Wohlschlegel; Tressa Rae and William Moore; and great grandchild, Evegelene Whittley.

Military Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.
