Janet Scott Leonard, age 85, passed away on November 30, 2010 at Larksfield Place Health Care Center in Wichita, KS. She was a retired restaurant owner and former manager of the Elks Lodge and Granny's Kitchen in Wellington. She also worked for Boeing Aircraft for seven years before her retirement.

Janet Scott (Pifer) Leonard was born on November 6, 1925 in Frederick, OK to C. A. Pifer and Lorna June (Hale) Pifer.

She married Howard Junior Ernst in Macksville, KS before he entered the service during WWII. They were divorced in 1962. She then married Robert J. Leonard in Wellington, KS in 1970. He preceded her in death in 1978.

She enjoyed dancing, estate sales, collecting angels, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; the father of her children, Howard Junior Ernst; and one son, Howard Scott Ernst.

Survivors include her three children, Mike Ernst and Tod Ernst both of Wichita, KS and Candy Park of Ashland, KS; two sisters, Jackie Fanucchi of San Leandro, CA and Deanna Oakley of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A memorial has been established in her name with Positive Directions, 414 S. Commerce Street, Wichita, KS 67202. Contributions can also be left at the funeral home.
