April 24, 1951 – December 22, 2018
Janette Sue (Ewing) Guinn, age 67, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away early Saturday morning, December 22, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. She was a business partner in Ewing Radio and Electronics.
Janette Sue (Ewing) Guinn was born to Robert Ralph Ewing and Edna Joyce (Argo) Ewing on April 25, 1951 in Wellington, Kansas. Janette was very active in Junior and High school bands, as well as with her brothers and sister playing marimba and accordion at several churches, fairs and fraternal organizations. She graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1969. She graduated from Hutchinson Junior College with an Associate's degree in Nutrition.
On May 23, 1971 she married Dennis D. Guinn in Wellington, Kansas. They lived in Arkansas City, Kansas, Bonner Springs and Kansas City, Kansas before returning to Wellington in 1981.
She was very involved with her church, Future Farmers of America, Boy Scouts, Heifer International and was one of the founding members of the Wellington Agricultural Educational Support Group.
Janette and Dennis have two daughters, Robyn R. McCain and her husband Kyle of Camden, Indiana and Lisa L. Stejskal and her husband Justin of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Janette has three grandchildren, Braden Stejkal and Nataley Stejkal of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Madilynn McCain of Camden, Indiana.
Other family members include a sister, Kathy Cartwright and her husband Gordon; brothers, Bruce Ewing and his wife Mary K. Ewing and Brad Ewing and his wife Paulette all of Wellington, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sister in law, Brenda Ewing; nephew, Nick Ewing; and Uncle Fred and Aunt Helen Pomeroy.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington, KS. Pastor Andy Hargrove will officiate.
In honoring Janette's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church and Heifer International in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
