Janice Darlene Ross, age 67, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at her home in Mayfield, KS. She was a homemaker and a life long Mayfield, KS resident.

Janice Darlene (Barry) Ross was born on July 11, 1944 in Wellington, KS to Harlan Dale Barry and Doris Clydene (Herrington) Barry.

Janice married Edward J. "Jerry" Ross on August 4, 1963 at the Mayfield Federated Church in Mayfield, KS.

She enjoyed mowing and working in the yard, cooking, and had served as church organist and church mission's treasurer at the Wellington Baptist Temple.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Merlyn; and grandson, Kevin Randall Yates.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Ross of Mayfield, KS; one son Jim Ross and his wife Barbara of Porta-Au-Prince, Haiti; two daughters, Joan Kogle and her husband Rob of Wellington, KS and Jean Yates and her husband Randy of Gray, Tennessee; aunt, Marjorie Blackmore of Wellington, KS; and eight grandchildren, David Yates, Jennifer Yates, Miranda Yates, Christina Yates, Nathanael Ross, Robin Jimenez, Kailey Jones, and Austin Kogle.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wellington Baptist Temple on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor John Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Baptist Temple in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
