Jaunita F. Troutman Gerdes, age 99, Wellington resident for over 60 years, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Wellington.
Jaunita F. (Tracy) Troutman Gerdes was born on February 22, 1917 in Carmen, OK to Charles Tracy and Edith (Beadles) Tracy. Jaunita was raised in Oklahoma. She had resided in South Haven, KS for 10 years before moving to Wellington.
Jaunita Tracy married Glen E. Troutman on June 8, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1985. She then married Olen Gerdes on July 17, 1993. He preceded her in death in 2011.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and the great outdoors. She loved living in Wellington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Glen Troutman and Olen Gerdes; son, Donald Troutman; daughter, Jana Troutman; granddaughter, Donna Troutman Crozier; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two sons, Merlin Glen Troutman, Sr. and Richard Allan Troutman both of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Wellington Church of Christ on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Dan Floyd will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
