Obituary

Jeanette Elizabeth Ellis, age 83, life long Wellington resident passed away at Beaver Creek Village in Milan, KS on Wednesday evening, April 11, 2007. She was a retired sales person at Tibbs Furniture having worked there for 22 years.

Jeanette Elizabeth Brown Ellis was born on January 1, 1924 in Wellington, KS to Earl Brown and Lydia (Black) Brown.

Jeanette Elizabeth Ellis married Thomas R. Moyer on June 2, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1980. She then married Wayne H. Ellis on December 5, 1980. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2001. Jeanette is also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Vance Brown.

Jeanette enjoyed life and loved to laugh. She had an interesting way of being a worrywart, but at the same time showing strength and flexibility to adapt positively to change and hurtles that came through living life. She was passionate about loving her family and was a dedicated wife to two good men and a doting mother and grandmother. She was also passionate about loving her many pets throughout her life. Her 22 years with Tibbs Furniture was more than a job as she considered the Tibb's employees her second family and always felt her time there was the highlight of her working years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends over the years and would never pass up an opportunity to dance. She once said "I would rather dance than eat." She was proud to live in Wellington and stated, "I was born here and I will finish the dance here."

Survivors include two sons, Gary Moyer and his wife Kathy of Kettering, Ohio and Dennis Moyer and his wife Becky of Warrensburg, MO; one daughter, Tammy Stewart and her husband James of Mayfield, KS; two step-sons, Jim Ellis and his wife Chris of Wellington, KS and Mark Ellis of Wellington, KS; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. Chaplain Vern Richerson of Hospice Care of Kansas will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Wellington Humane Society and Beaver Creek Village. Memorials can be left or sent to Frank Funeral Home.
