Jerry Michael "Lumpy" Wilkerson, age 60, of Wellington, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015. He had worked as a conductor/brakeman for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 33 years before he retired.
Jerry was born on November 30, 1954 in Wellington, KS to Wilbur L. Wilkerson and Wilma Berniece (Morrison) Wilkerson. He was raised in Wellington and was a 1972 graduate of Wellington High School and also a graduate of Hutchinson Junior College.
He married Yolanda Caudillo in Wellington, KS on May 10, 1980.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Wilkerson; and one sister, Marsha Wilkerson.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Yolanda Wilkerson of Wellington; daughter, Metta Wilkerson of Burlington, WI; one son, Jeremy Wilkerson of Hutchinson, KS; one brother, Terry Wilkerson and his wife Peggy of Kansas City, MO; and one granddaughter, Morgan Wilkerson of Emporia, KS.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Anthony - St. Rose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow the service at Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
