John Arthur Haggard, age 91, long time Wellington resident, passed away at Riverview Manor in Oxford, KS on Friday, May 22, 2009. He was a retired parts manager for Allis-Chalmers where he worked from 1955-1985.

John Arthur Haggard was born on November 28, 1917 in Longton, KS to William Haggard and Norma (Bell) Haggard. He graduated from Wellington High School.

John A. Haggard married Evelyn P. Boatright on November 26, 1945 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death in 2002.

He is preceded in death by her parents; his wife, Evelyn; brother, Rex Haggard; sister, Vera Hall; and infant brother, William Haggard.

He is survived by his daughter, Jo Jean White and brother Lawrence Haggard, both of Wellington, KS; sister, Iris Gilbert of Fredonia, KS; and one grandson, John White of Wichita, KS.

Graveside services will be held at Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Jim Neice will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Chaplain Nature Center. Memorials can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
