John L. Larsen, II, age 53, passed away Saturday night, February 25, 2012. He was a farmer and stockman.

John L. Larsen, II was born on May 14, 1958 in Wellington, KS to John L. Larsen and Marian Elaine (Fry) Larsen. He was a WHS graduate with the Class of 1976.

He married Martha M. Brown on August 16, 1986 at the family farm near Wellington.

He was a devoted family man, thoroughly enjoyed farming, and was an avid sportsman. He was a member of the Wellington Lodge #150 AF&AM.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Larsen of Wellington; one son, John L. Larsen of Wellington; five daughters, Samantha Elaine Larsen of Wellington, Lori Lynn Larsen of Garden Plaine, KS; Hannah Christine Larsen of Wellington, Grace Marie Larsen of Wellington, and Molly Jo Larsen of Wellington.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Jeff McCullough of Cherryvale, KS will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Jordan Cemetery near Rome, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Kansas Wildlife & Parks, Wild Trust Youth Hunting & Fishing of South Central Kansas. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
