Joseph Turner Webster, age 65, passed away on Thursday morning, January 14, 2010 at his home in Wellington, KS. He taught special education in Texas for many years and was also a laborer for the Sumner County Road and Bridge Department.
Joseph Turner Webster was born on October 22, 1944 in Wellington, KS to Jay D. Webster and Mabel C. (Stewart) Webster.
On August 30, 2001 he married Gracie A. Kinnamon in Wellington, KS at the First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jay D. Webster, Jr. and Clifford Webster.
Survivors include his wife Gracie Webster of Wellington, KS; son, Tobin Webster and his wife Leslie of Portland, TX; daughter, Amy Goode and her husband Jason of Austin, TX; step-children, Bill Romig and his wife Kori of Holly Springs, NC and Nellie Byer of Wichita, KS; brothers, Clarence Webster of Amarillo, TX, Calvin Webster of Fredricksburg, TX, and Willard Webster of Corbin, KS; sister, Shirley Heasty of Deer Park, TX; grandson, Ian Webster; seven step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Wellington. Pastor Tom Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
