Juanita Aline Kilts, age 86, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at her home in Wellington. She was a homemaker and a restaurant manager. Juanita had been a resident of Wellington for the past 11 years having moved here from Belle Plaine.
Juanita Aline (Pierce) Kilts was born on April 30, 1923 in Belle Plaine, KS to Roy Gilbert Pierce and Flora (McKinnley) Pierce.
She married Arthur W. Kilts, Sr. on September 3, 1938 in Derby, KS. Arthur preceded her in death in 1989.
Juanita loved to read and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; sisters, Lucy Pattrick and Dell Gifford; brothers, Marion Pierce and Malcom "Pug" Pierce.
Survivors include her sons, Arthur W. Kilts, Jr. and Juil G. Kilts of Wellington, KS; daughters, Deanna M. Spillman of Princeton, TX and Treva C. Purk of Wellington, KS; brother, Marshall Pierce of Wichita, KS; sisters, Wanda Burrows and Ella Neptune of Belle Plaine, KS; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Belle Plaine Cemetery on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Robert Nickel will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
