Judith E. Leitch, age 69, lifelong Wellington resident, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, KS.  Judy retired in 2014 after 26 years as a school teacher at Kennedy Elementary School in Wellington.

Judy was born on September 13, 1952 in Wellington, KS to Robert Dean Jones and Betty Lou (McBride) Jones.  She was a 1970 graduate of Wellington High School.  She continued her education and received a dual master's degree.

She married Guy P. Leitch on October 1, 2005 in Wellington, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jill Peck; two brothers, Mike and Bobby Jones; and a step-son, Luke Leitch.

Survivors include her husband Guy Leitch of Wellington; grandson, Kylen Smith of Wellington; two sisters, Janet Garretson and Karilyn Lockwood both of Wellington; step- sons, Josh (Renee) Leitch and daughters, McKenzie and Peyton of Choctaw, OK, Zach (Katharina Glink) Leitch and son, Wilder of Portland, OR, daughter-in-law, Rachel Leitch and daughter, Megan of Devils Lake, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:30 A.M.  Pastor James Byers will officiate.  Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or WHS.CC Fund in lieu of flowers.  Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
