Keith Eldon Smith, age 53, passed away on November 1, 2010 at his home in South Haven, KS.
Keith Eldon Smith was born on March 21, 1957 in Arkansas City, KS to Eldon Lee and MayBelle (Ramsey) Smith. He attended school in Arkansas City, KS and was a graduate of Wichita State University.
He married Charlotte L. Walcher on November 24, 1978 in Blackwell, OK.
Keith was active in his community having served as South Haven Mayor, South Haven Fair Board for 25 years, and South Haven School Board for several years. He was a life long fan of aviation and motor sports.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eldon Smith; sister, Debbie Smith; mother-in-law, Joann Walcher; and brother-in-law, Tuffy Cornejo.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte of South Haven, KS; children, Bryan and Crystal Smith of South Haven, KS, Ryan and Regina Smith of Lighthouse Point, FL, and Garratt and Diana Locke of South Haven, KS; mother, MayBelle Smith of Arkansas City, KS; father-in-law, Merle Walcher of South Haven, KS; brothers and sisters, Karen and Doug Comeau of Benecia, CA, Morris and Colleen Meeker of South Haven, KS, Roberta Hiltzman of Oxford, KS, Byron and Karen White of Oxford, KS, Allen and Donna Walcher of South Haven, KS, and Robert and Maria Campbell of Meeker, OK; grandchildren, Madison Dawn Smith, Tucker Keith Locke, Alex Bryan Smith, Callie Deene Locke, and Madeline Mackey; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the South Haven Baptist Church on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. (Flower Service at 10:00 A.M.) Pastor John Minor and Pastor Kerry Hervey will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Robert Walcher Scholarship Fund, Colleen Meeker, trustee. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
