Obituary

Kenneth Preston Denny, age 91, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Wellington, KS. He was a retired Boeing and Welco inspector.

Kenneth P. Denny was born on December 3, 1915 in Clovis, NM to James P. Denny and Emma (Quinby) Denny. The family moved back to Wellington when he was a young boy and he spent the rest of his life in Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1935 and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps.

He married AnnaBell Johnson in Wellington, KS on February 12, 1943.

Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post #90 and the First United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Daryl D. Denny; sisters Vivian Marsh, Velma Buttry and two infant sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ann Denny of Wellington, KS; two daughters Debbie Showman and her husband John of Norman, OK and Sue Denny of Moore, OK; one brother Don D. Denny of Alva, OK; granddaughters Heather Holladay of Amarillo, TX and Shannon Braudway of Moore, OK; four great grandchildren, Megan Holladay, Zack Holladay, Dane Braudway and Emalee Braudway; two step grandchildren John C. Showman and Shelley Amberger; and four step great grandchildren Nicholas Showman, Brianna Amberger, Tara Amberger, and Kara Amberger.

Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, KS on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Brent Clayton of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Futures Unlimited, Inc. Contributions can be left at or mailed to Frank Funeral Home.
