Obituary

Kerry Wayne Edward Corter, 50, of Wellington passed away October 4, 2011 at St. Francis Harry Hynes Hospice Unit in Wichita.

Kerry was born July 17, 1961 in Winfield. In December 1980 he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved his ministry work and shared an encouraging scripture with everyone he met.

On December 5, 1981 Kerry married his best friend, Sharon Whitehead. Kerry had a variety of jobs, he worked in fast food, home heath care, restaurants, and he served in the National Guard.

One of Kerry's greatest loves was his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved cooking, fishing, going to the lake, and listening to his music collection.

Kerry will be remembered for his sense of humor and putting a smile on your face.

Kerry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Corter; his sons, Joey Corter and wife Amanda, Justin Corter and wife Carlie, Jeremy Corter and wife Jennifer; sisters, Renee Reeves, Rebecca Pettijohn, and Regina Williams; his brothers, Harvey "Bucky" Corter and Morris Corter; his grandchildren, Nicole, Brendin, Eleazar, Paige, Preslie, Katelyn and James.

Kerry is preceded in death by his sister, Ramona Corter.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2000 N. Cherry Street, Wellington, KS. James Johnson will officiate.
