Lane was born March 12 th , 1997 in Wellington, KS to Brett and Katrina Hallman. From day one they knew he was going to be one of a kind. Lane attended South Haven Schools from kindergarten to when he graduated as a member of South Haven Class of 2015. Lane hated school because he was told what to do and when to do it, but he loved the people. Lane liked to live on his own schedule. High school was not his highlight point academically but he was a very smart child, and I don't mean just a smart ass either, after all he was his grandfather's prodigy. He thoroughly enjoyed the extracurricular activities through the years, from dabbling in the trumpet to playing football where he dislocated his pinky the very first game of Jr High, thanks Coach Hughes for putting it back in. He did try track once… he said fat boys can run. His love for FFA continued throughout high school and never left him. He was a recent owner of four cows, expecting any day now. He was sure looking forward to his first calf to be born. Thank you, Charlie and Colby, for helping him reach one of his dreams. After high school Lane attended Tulsa Welding School. Leaving home for the first time in June of 2015 was exciting for Lane. Again, he hated the classroom part, but he loved getting to work in the shop. Lane learned at this point he really liked not having mom and dads' rules. Tulsa was also where mom and dad found out he had a love for "his ladies". He finally settled down on June 9 th 2020 when he reconnected with Lyndsi who later became his girlfriend. He found his dancing legs and oh boy did he love to use them. There isn't a story out there where it doesn't speak of how good of a dancing partner he truly was. With his down time Lane spent majority of it hunting, fishing and sleeping. He was a member of the South Haven Fire Department which he loved dearly. His passion for farming was able to shine through as he was a current farm hand for Theurers (Matt, Luke, and Clint). Everyone who knew Lane knew his friends were more like his family and his love for his family was inspiring. He would always know the right thing to say, even if it was a short girl joke obviously geared towards his sisters. If someone called because they needed him, or his niece and nephew were calling to ask if he had forgotten about them, he was there at the drop of a hat, that is after he would finally get out of bed.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Even though he is gone, his spirit will live on through those who had been touched by his generous big heart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been set up with the South Haven FFA and the South Haven Fire Department. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
