Larry Cecil Schilling, age 73, passed away early Thursday morning, January 2, 2020 at his home in Wellington. Larry was a resident of Wellington since 1981 and was a former owner of Landis Oil and Foster Service. He retired from Plessey/Welco where he had worked for many years.
Larry was born on July 9, 1946 in Jefferson, Iowa to Cecil D. Schilling and Dorothy (Winkleman) Schilling.
Larry married Karen (Palmer) Myers on August 1, 1986 at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Geuda Springs, KS.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He restored John Deere antique tractors and was a member of the Sumner County Antique Tractor Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Schilling of Wellington; daughters, Tracey Page and her husband Jeremy, Trisha Davis and her husband John both of Wichita, Terri Hoag and her husband Matt of Derby; step-sons, Justin Myers of Wellington and Jeremy Myers and his wife Kensie of Wichita; brother Darwin Schilling and his wife Bonnie of Wellington; and sister, Kathy Rice of Jefferson, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Raymond Frye Complex on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. The service will begin at 2:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington FFA in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
