Larry Dee Sowersby, age 61, of Wellington, KS passed away Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

Larry Dee Sowersby was born on December 6, 1953 in Wichita, KS to Emmil Wayne Sowersby and Beulah Mae (Phipps) Sowersby.

Larry married Nancy Dutcher on May 15, 2013 in Wellington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Jennie (Peltier) Sowersby; one sister, Connie; one brother, Dennis; and infant twins, John and Jeremy Sowersby.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sowersby of Wellington; two sons, Joseph and Thomas Sowersby of Wellington; two daughters, Diana Valentine and her husband Tony of Lebanon, MO and Johanna Sowersby of Wellington; two step-children, Amanda Catlin and her husband Kevin of Wellington and Nicole Zabel and her husband Justin of Wellington; five brothers; and three sisters; 22 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Rodger Tyrrell will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Belle Plaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the American Stroke foundation. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
