Lorene Ruth Crites, age 100, lifelong Wellington resident, passed away Saturday morning, March 26, 2011, at Slate Creek Deseret Nursing Home in Wellington, KS. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Lorene R. (Mosby) Crites was born on November 26, 1910 in Wellington, KS to Lincoln Mosby and Lillie F. (Mumford) Mosby.
Lorene married Elmer O. "Bud" Crites on March 17, 1946 in Cherokee, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud Crites; one daughter, Jacquelyn (Harrell) Gettings; two granddaughters, Lori (Scott) Gee and Kimmey Gettings; one grandson, Shawn Scott; six brothers, Harold, Harry, Raymond, Alvin, Bill, and Syd Mosby and one sister, Irene Chilton Brown.
Survivors include one daughter, Janis (Harrell) Scott; three grandchildren, Robin (Scott) Metz, Gina (Gettings) Maggard and Donald Gettings; 11 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Reverend Tamara Keen will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 1:00 - 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with St. John's Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Memorials can be left at the funeral home. Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
