Mae Frances Goodman, age 88, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at Riverview Manor in Oxford, KS. She had been a life time resident of Sumner County, moving to Wellington from South Haven at the age of six. She was a homemaker, care giver, and a cook at Cedarview Nursing Home.

Mae Frances (Bowman) Goodman was born on August 15, 1921 to Benjamin Harrison Bowman and Edith Amelia (Hansen) Bowman at the home of her Great Grandfather, John Davis, near Corbin, KS.

Mae married Oscar "Wendell" Goodman on July 24, 1938 in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1988.

Mae raised her family and worked side by side with her husband, Wendell, in their mechanic shop, Goodman Car and Tractor Service. She was a care giver to anyone who needed her. She loved to crochet and was a master at it. Mae's family members have crocheted afghans, tablecloths, bedspreads and many other items.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell; sister, Marjorie Helen Roll; and son-in-law, Arlen Cooper.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Beeman and her husband Bud of Oxford, KS and Judy Cooper of Lincoln, MO; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, KS. Pastor Danny Ginn will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Riverview Manor in Oxford, KS. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
