Obituary

Margaret Elaine Botkin, age 89, of Arkansas City, KS, formerly of Wellington, KS passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Presbyterian Manor Health Care in Arkansas City.

Margaret was born January 25, 1921, in Wellington, KS, the daughter of Clyde and Tura (Stamm) Argo. She was the fifth of seven children.

She attended Wellington schools, graduating in 1939.

On December 31, 1942, she married Orville Botkin at the First Methodist Church parsonage in Wellington. They lived on the Botkin family farm northwest of Wellington for 30 years. In 1972, they moved into Wellington, where she worked for JC Penny's for several years.

Margaret was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.

In 2007, Margaret moved to the Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City, KS.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville in 1995; daughter, Marilyn Dill in 2009; five brothers, Harold, Raymond, Cecil, Bill and Bob Argo; and a sister Dorothy McClellan.

She is survived by her daughter, Janis Crittenden and husband Eddie of Arkansas City, KS; son-in-law, Jack Dill of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Elena White and husband Marshall of Jenks, OK, Eric Crittenden of Arkansas City, KS, Scott Crittenden and wife Carrie of Edmond, OK, step-grandson, Mark Dill of OK; great grandchildren, Jessica Curtis, Micheal Curtis, and Caelyn Crittenden; step-great grandchildren, Skylar Dill and Logan Dill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington, KS. Reverend Brent Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society. Memorials can be left at the funeral home.
