Margaret Alice Shelburn, age 92, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home in Eureka, KS. She was a teacher for 19 years before retiring in 1983.

Margaret Alice (Encell) Shelburn was born on November 14, 1925 in Elk County, KS to Charles Wood Encell and Alice Wilma (Barnes) Encell. Margaret received her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree and taught school in Missouri, Arizona, and California.

She married Herbert E. Shelburn on November 3, 1942 in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert; one son, Herbert, Jr.; one sister, Lucy Winfrey Funckes; and one brother, Marsh Arthur Encell.

Survivors include her children, Steven Shelburn of Eureka, KS, Charles Shelburn of Vacaville, CA, Amanda Biering and her husband Jonathan of Rose Hill, KS, and Kathryn Huffman and her husband Donal of Eureka, KS; six grandchildren, Trystan, Dixie, Kaydin, Kira, Steven, Jr. and Jessica; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Nason; and two great great grandchildren, Aidlyn and Nason, Jr.

Graveside Services will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, KS on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Jerry Clark of Eureka, KS will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Toronto Cowboy Church. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
