Margaret A. Thompson, age 84, longtime Wellington resident, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

Margaret A. (Dry) Thompson was born on February 16, 1935 in Mountain Home, AR to Melton A. Dry and Minnie Ethel (Weeks) Dry.

Margaret married Delbert J. Thompson on March 13, 1952 in Huntsville, AR. Delbert preceded her in death in 2002.

Margaret worked for many years in the burr shop at Plessey Welco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert; brother, Raymond Dry; and sister, Virginia Scobee.

Survivors include her brother, Ralph Dry and his wife April of Wellington, KS; sisters, Gladys Wharton and her husband Milton of Belle Plaine, KS and Velma McCloud and her husband Stanley of Columbus, KS; sister-in-law, Diana Dry of Wellington, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

Private Family Services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Rome, KS. Pastor James Wharton will officiate.

In honoring Margaret's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Margaret's name with CASA in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
