Maria De La Luz Bansemer, age 90, lifelong Wellington resident, passed away March 14, 2018 at Botkin Health and Rehab Center. Maria was a homemaker, wife and mother.
Maria (Jimenez) Bansemer was born on January 4, 1928 in Gary, IN to Carlos Jimenez and Maria J. (Martinez) Jimenez.
Maria married John R. Bansemer in 1952 in Eureka Springs, AR. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; three brothers, Carlos, Tomas and Cevero Jimenez; and three sisters, Margaret Perez, Nancy Arebalo and Teresa Flook.
Survivors include her son, Mark Bansemer of Wellington, KS; one brother, Steven Jimenez and his wife Helen of Wellington, KS; four sisters, Ramona Jimenez of Wellington, KS, Anita Jimenez Avila and her husband Avelino of San Jose, CA, Juanita Jiminez Mistler and her husband Rodger of Kansas City, MO and Carmen Jiminez Lindsey of Wellington, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church on Monday evening, March 19, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Father Hung Pham will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon, March 19, 2018 from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church Altar Society. Contributions can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
