Marjorie Eileen (Herrington) Blackmore, age 87, of Wellington, KS, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Wellington Health and Rehabilitation.

Marjorie was born on June 29, 1928 in Wellington, KS to Clyde O. Harrington and Marie L. (Bogle) Harrington. She was a 1946 graduate of Wellington High School and graduated from nursing school in 1982.

Marjorie worked for three years in the accounting department at Boeing Aircraft, at the Veterans and Riverside Hospitals in Wichita, Sumner Regional Medical Center, and was an office nurse for Dr. Naldoza, M.D. She sold properties in Wichita and worked for Renn & Company in Wellington. She retired as a Real Estate Broker, CRS, GRI.

Marjorie married Wallace L. Blackmore on July 23 1955. They had celebrated 46 years of marriage before his passed away on February 12, 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; one brother, Beryl Herrington and one sister, Doris Barry.

Survivors include her dear friend and step-daughter, Donna Theall; two step-grandsons, Stephen and Breck Ricketts; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Dan Floyd will officiate.

Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, KS on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with Wellington Health and Rehabilitation and Heartland Hospice in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
