Obituary

Marjorie Hazel Brown, age 80, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Wellington, KS. Marjorie had worked as a CNA at Cedarview Nursing Home and Lakeside Lodge Nursing Home in Wellington and Wheatland Lodge in South Haven.

Marjorie Hazel (Lattimer) Brown was born on April 30, 1931 in Barton, New York to George Wilbur Lattimer and Eliza Mae (Johnston) Lattimer.

Marjorie married Lewis Brown on February 18, 1963 in Denver, CO.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to Country music, especially George Strait.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis; two daughters, Doris Griffin and Sandra Fritsch; six sisters, Myrtle Comstock, Shirley Charles, Hattie Schrader, Anna Lattimer, Mae Grover, and Ellen Lattimer; six brothers, Harry, Wilbur, George, Hirman, Carl, and Earl Lattimer; three grandchildren, Danette Meredith, Jery Vanlandingham, and LeRoy Vanlandingham, Jr.; and one great grandchild, Tyler Meredith.

Survivors include her sons, LeRoy Vanlandingham of Dayton, TX, John Zielinski, Jr., of Wellington, and Bobby Charles of Sayre, Pennsylvania; daughters, Dianne Thompson and her husband Danny of Wellington and Carol Ann Zielinski; eight grandchildren, Danny Thompson, Jr., Joey Thompson, Daniel Vanlandingham, Traci Vanlandingham, Brayden Vanlandingham, John Griffin, Mark Powledge, and Christopher Asbury; five great grandchildren, Dylan Thompson, Avrey Thompson, Bryson Martin, Kyler Young, and Peyton Brown; three step children; nine step-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor John Clayton of the Wellington Baptist Temple will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
