Obituary

Marjorie Gift (Rose), age 95, passed away on July 8, 2020 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Marjorie was a Wellington resident for 53 years. She was born on August 27, 1924 in Wichita, Kansas and was adopted at the age of 6 months by loving parents Walter & May Rose, farmers in Anson, Kansas.

She attended school 10 years in Anson and graduated from Wellington High School in 1942.

She married Wayne gift on October 25, 1942. They were residents of Corbin, KS for a few years as her husband was employed by the Grain Elevator. Two of their children, Judy & Gary, were born during that time. Donna & Lois were born after moving to Mayfield in 1950. While living there, Marjorie wrote the Mayfield Weekly News printed in the Wellington Daily News.

Marjorie lived in Wellington from 1960-2013, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and worked at the St. Lukes and Wellington Hospitals as a nurse aide.

The last 13 years in Wellington, with the help of numerous friends; Marjorie worked to collect many pounds of aluminum cans and tabs, to contribute cash donations to the Ronald McDonald House in Wichita, Kansas.

She made many friends the last few years of her life while living in Hillsboro, Oregon (2013-2015) near her daughter Lois Bailey; then moved to Palm Beach Gardens, near her daughter Donna Busbey. (2015-2020)

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter Judy Harding; son Gary Gift; and grandson Jeff Bevan.

Marjorie is survived by daughter, Donna Busbey of North Palm Beach, Florida; and daughter, Lois Bailey (husband Richard) of Aloha, Oregon; son in law, Robert Harding; daughter in law, Christy Gift; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held on August 6, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, Kansas. Reverend Isaac Chua will officiate.
