Obituary

Marjorie Louise Heasty, age 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away early Monday morning, July 28, 2008 at her home. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of the Mayfield, KS area.

Marjorie Louise (Pohlenz) Heasty was born on June 12, 1926 in Huntington Beach, CA to Firman Pohlenz and Mabel (Stuhlmiller) Pohlenz.

Marjorie married Hubert Richard Heasty on September 2, 1944 in Norman, OK.

Marjorie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching their ball games. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara Swingle, and her daughter, Kathryn Jones.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Hubert Heasty of Mayfield, KS; one son, Duane Heasty of Arkansas City, KS; two daughters, Doris Kendrick and her husband Jim of Clearwater, KS and Donna Kramer and her husband Dennis of Winfield, KS; two brothers, Bill Pohlenz of Argonia, KS and Howard Pohlenz of Gilbert, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Mark Kendrick and his wife Pam, Mike Kendrick and his wife Krissi, Scott Pontious and his wife Tina, Chris Caywood and his wife Denise, JoDee Strong, Darcy Megaw and her husband Tristan, Kristen Best and her husband Rody, Tripp Hamby and his wife Monica, Tony Leatherman and his wife Stephanie, Trinna Brittian, Starla Sandoval and her husband Ariel; 23 great grandchildren, Danielle and Danae Kendrick, Derrick and Trent Kendrick, Audra McIntire, Kandice, Calvin, and Cierra Pontious, Ashley, Jordan, and Shania Passler, Barrett Caywood, Cailey Megaw, Dakota, Dylan, and Drake Best, Austyn and Avery Hamby, Emma Leatherman, Joshua and Victoria Sandoval, Braxton and Brooklynn Brittian.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wellington Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31. 2008. Mr. Gary Bodine will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Union Chapel Cemetery at rural Mayfield, KS.

Visitation will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
