Mark W. Burden, age 70, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS on November 18, 2022.  He worked as a machinist at Boeing for over 30 years.

Mark was born on September 23, 1952 in Memphis, TN to Warren W. Burden and Helen L. (Hatcher) Burden.   He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War from September 26, 1969 to April 3, 1972.

Mark married Marcia Soria on November 5, 1971 in Wellington, KS at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Mark loved art, horses, wood working, animals, antiquing, rodeo, and all things having to do with the old west and frontier life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Michael.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Marcia Burden of Wellington; two sons, Jeremy Burden and his wife Tammy of Derby, KS and Levi Burden of Wellington; one brother Brian Burden and his wife Jan of England and one sister Kim Hain of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Connor, Daulton, and Julian Burden and Brooklyn and Callie Burden; and great grandchild, Niko Burden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony – St. Rose Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.  Father Mike Maybrier will officiate.  Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 12:00 – 6:00 P.M.  The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M.  In honoring Mark's wishes, the casket will remain closed.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society or the Avenue of Flags in lieu of flowers.  Memorials can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
