Obituary
Markham Ross Mayfield, age 55, a Wellington resident since May, 2005, passed away at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. He was retired from Admissions at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California.
Markham Ross Mayfield was born on May 3, 1951, in San Jose, California, to Johnnie R. Mayfield and LaVeta (Hardzog) Mayfield.
On December 19, 2004, he married Holly Wood in Milpitas, California.
Mark loved working with his hands, pottery, sketching, and woodcarving. Mark was a credential teacher. He had a gift with words and wrote beautiful poetry, stories, and novels. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed raising Black and Tan Coonhounds. Spending time with his family and friends was one of his great joys.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Holly Mayfield, of Wellington, KS; three sisters: Sharee Cope of San Jose, California; Sandra Bosque'-Oliva of Los Gatos, California; and Jan Bertron of San Jose, California; and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be at Darling & Fischer in Los Gatos, California.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
