Marvin Leroy (Marty) Walton, Jr., 52, gained his Angel Wings at this home in Longview, WA on July 27, 2016 after a short battle with cancer.

Marvin was born in Wellington, KS on July 9, 1964 to Marvin L. Walton, Sr. and Janice (Engelhardt) Walton. He attended schools in Deer Creek-Lamont, OK.

Marvin served 21 years and retired, with the Blackwell, OK Army National Guard. Marty loved to cook, fish, garden, build things, and spend time with his family and his beloved dog, Diva.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Mildred Winchell and Richard and Grace (Bestwick) Walton; step-father, LeRoy Engelhardt; and step-sister, Kim Rogers.

Marty is survived by his father, Marvin Walton (Sharon) of Salina, KS and mother, Janice Engelhardt of Wellington, KS; wife, Cynthia of the home; daughter, Ashley McMartin (Jarrod) of Ponca City, OK; son, Josh Walton, Brookings, OR; grandchildren, Taylor and Colin; siblings, Dale Walton (Cyndi) of Bourg, LA and Vanda Neely (Randy) of Mayfield, KS, Rita Weber and partner Steve Johnson of Blackwell, OK, Eugene Engelhardt of Tonkawa, OK; Wendell and Elaine Freeman of Wellington, KS; step-mother, Shirley Burt; step-brother, Kevin Rogers of Salina, KS; Cynthia's children, Leland, Joey, Tiffany Montgomery; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Graveside Military Services will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, Kansas on September 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
