Obituary

Mary Ann (Rohlin) Willis of Wellington died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Serenity Assisted Living Facility in Wellington at the age of 90.

Mary was a devoted and loving housewife and mother while her children were growing up. She was an outstanding seamstress and cook and she enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings. In her later years she served as a volunteer at Sumner Regional Medical Center and Gift Shop and served as custodian at Calvary Lutheran Church in Wellington.

Mary was born in Eureka, KS on February 1, 1922 to William Frederick Rohlin and Grace Mabel (Cope) Rohlin. She attended Wichita North High School where she graduated in 1942. She married Everett Clayton Willis on April 11, 1945 in Wichita, KS.

She was a active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and served as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Grace Rohlin; brothers, David Rohlin and Harold Rohlin; husband, Everett Clayton Willis; grandson, Ty Misak; and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Willis.

Survivors include her brother, John Rohlin of Wichita, KS; children, Mary (Shea) Sigel of St. Louis, MO, Larry (Grace) Willis of Bartlesville, OK, Dr. Robert (Sherry) Willis of Wellington, KS, and Elizabeth (Richard) Blake of Beaumont, TX; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church. The Reverend Michael Wolff will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with Calvary Lutheran Church and the Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Fund. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
