Obituary

Maxine Robinson Brooner, age 85, passed away April 27, 2008 at her home. Maxine had been a Wellington resident all of her life. She was the former owner of Robinson's Liquor Store.

Velma Maxine (Graves) Robinson Brooner was born on May 15, 1922 in rural Danville, KS to Lewis W. Graves and Leora O. ( Klick) Graves. She attended schools in Wellington and graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1940.

Maxine married Howard Brooner on June 1, 1984 in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1993.

Maxine enjoyed playing cards and slot machines, bowling, being out doors and working in her yard, dancing, her dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Brooner, her step-son, Mike Brooner; step-grand daughter, Sarah Baker; and brother-in-law, Billy DeBuhr.

Survivors include one son, Robert L. "Bob" Robinson and his wife Sandy of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Nancy L. Cathers of Wellington, KS; sister, Marvelle DeBuhr of Wellington, KS; step-daughter, Pat Hook and her husband Gene of Mayfield, KS; step-daughter-in-law, Elaine Brooner of Wellington, KS; grandson, Chris Robinson and his companion Corey Evans of Wichita, KS; step-grandchildren, Jake Brooner of Wellington, KS, Kim Becker and her husband Mark of Conway Springs, KS, Jack Row and his wife Carey of Wellington, KS, Bill Row and his wife Tonya of Wellington, KS, and Priscilla Row Rowley of Wellington, KS; three great grandchildren, Brendan Robinson, Justyn Evans, and Joseph Evans of Wichita, KS; and 16 step-great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Robert Nickel of Grace Baptist Fellowship Church will officiate.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
