Maxine L. Condit, age 94, passed away Thursday morning, October 14, 2010, at Friendly Acres Care Home in Wellington, KS. She had been a resident of Geuda Springs for most of her life before moving to Wellington in 2005.

Maxine L. (Gardner) Condit was born on the family farm near Riverdale, KS on December 16, 1915 to Lewis "Lew" Raymond Gardner and Callie (Meikle) Gardner.

She married Sterling L. Condit on June 15, 1935 at Geuda Springs, KS. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1979.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; two sisters; two infant siblings; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include her three children; son, Cleland Condit of Wellington, KS; two daughters, Donna Swanson and her husband Francis of Geuda Springs, KS and Yvonne Rector and her husband Jim of Riverside, CA; two sisters, Marjorie Howard of Downey, CA and Virginia Hedrick of Riverside, CA; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geuda Springs Cemetery in Geuda Springs, KS.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials have been established with the Shriners Hospital for Children and the Veterans Medical Center in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
