Obituary

Melba Jo Cook, age 81, Wichita resident and former Wellington resident, passed away November 24, 2018 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, KS. Through the years Melba worked as U.S.D. 353 Secretary to the Superintendent and Clerk of the Board. She taught at East High School in Wichita, Pratt Community College and Butler Community College.

Melba Jo (Travis) Cook was born on September 19, 1937 in Oxford, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Alice Smith.

Melba was a member of the Celebration Baptist Church in Wichita, KS.

Survivors include her husband, Royce Cook of Wichita; son Bob Cook and his wife Kay of Wellington; two grandchildren, Chrissy Donelson and her husband Garren of Vernon, TX, David Cook and his wife Maeve of Marshall, MO, and step grandchild, Carolyn Parson of Andover, KS; seven great grandchildren, Anakin, Rita, Lucas, Theren, Joey, Jeremiah, and Jacob.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, KS. Pastor James Albers will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 1:00

– 8:00 P.M.

A Memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
