Melva Joy Pohlenz was born September 30, 1920.  Melva and Argus Pearce were married February 4, 1939 in Rose Hill, KS and celebrated 73 years of marriage before his passing in October of 2013.

Melva Joy always had an open door for friends and family and all who entered were immediately welcomed and embraced by her gracious and loving spirit.

Whether you were washing dishes with her or sitting side by side holding hands and telling stories, Melva made each person feel like they were the most important person in the room. She modeled how to live a kind and godly life effortlessly and she will be missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mel and Elsie Pohlenz; her husband, Argus; and four brothers, Floyd, Gaylord, Dorsey, and Kenneth Pohlenz.

Melva is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Bill) Warner and Christi Powers both of Argonia, KS; grandchildren, Dan (Lesley) Warner of Argonia, KS, Lecia (Jeff) Retter of Newberg, OR; Brad (Kellie Dawn) DeLano of Casper, WY; Allison (Beau) Tipton of Cody, WY; Kelli (John) Wisniewski of Rifle, CO; great grandchildren, Tel (Mhari) Warner of Jenkins, OK; Cole Warner of Denver, CO; Cody Johnson of Mulvane, KS; Lincoln Warner of Argonia, KS; Paige (Jon) Jacobs of Lafayette, OR; Claire Retter of Durham, NC; Jordan (Paul) Brankel of Rock, KS; Hunter DeLano of Casper, WY; Cassidy (Monte) Steward of Cody, WY; Zack (Chalynne) Wisniewski of Laramie, WY; Rylee Wisniewski of Rifle, CO; seven great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at the Argonia Friends Church in Argonia, KS on November 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.

A Memorial has been established with the Argonia Friends Church in lieu of flowers.
