Merita Lorene Hutchison, age 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Friday afternoon, December 30, 2011 in Broken Arrow, OK.

Merita Lorene (Barker) Hutchison was born on November 4, 1924 in Waynoka, OK to Roy Orville Barker and Vera (Haltom) Barker.

Merita married Richard V. Washburn on May 3, 1945. He passed away in 1963. She then married Norval O. Hutchison on May 15, 1969. He passed away in 1994.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, dancing, crossword puzzles, and playing cards.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Richard Washburn and Norval Hutchison; and one great grandson.

Survivors include her three children, Richard L. Washburn of Marietta, PA; Janet Johnson of Tulsa, OK, and Deborah Fry and her husband Chuck of Wellington; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Wellington on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Don Bryant will officiate Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 2011 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
