Michael Wayne Washington, Sr, age 62, of Wellington, KS passed away on April 27, 2018 at his home. He worked for many years in the construction business as a concrete finisher.

Michael was born on September 2, 1955 in Richmond, TX to John H. Washington and Ruth M. (Carr) Washington. He graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1973.

Michael married Priscilla Mae Abasolo on March 25, 1980 in Wellington, Kansas.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and playing drums.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; and three sons, Izaha, Joaquim and Malachai.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Priscilla Washington of Wellington; one son, Michael W. Washington, Jr. of Wellington; his father, John Washington of Wellington; three brothers, Eric Washington and his wife Pam of Hoxie, KS, John Washington, Jr. of Puerto Morelos, Mexico and Lawrence Washington, Sr. of Wellington; three sisters, Darcy Griffin and her husband Roosevelt of Wellington, Ruth Hardgraves of Wichita and Sylvia Adkins and her husband Michael of Wellington; seven grandchildren; Ian, Victoria, Landen, Danika, Skylar, Ethan and Austin; and host of extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Free Will Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Zane Brooks will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

In honoring Michael's wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home and his casket will remain closed.

A memorial has been established with the First Free Will Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
