Norman E. Fuhrmann, age 90, of Wellington, KS, passed away May 5, 2016 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington. He was a retired farmer and stockman.
Norman was born on January 1, 1926 on a farm near Hennessey, OK to John H. Fuhrmann and Flora Iva (Whittenmeyer) Fuhrmann. He was a 1943 graduate of Hennessey High School.
He married Gloria A. Wilson on November 13, 1949 in Caldwell, KS.
Norman was President of Sumner County Farm Bureau for several years. He served on the State Farm Bureau Resolutions Committee and was also an active member of the Corbin United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Gloria Fuhrmann of Wellington, KS; one son, Jim Fuhrmann of South Haven, KS; one brother, Clinton Fuhrmann of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Jonathan Fuhrmann of Wellington, KS, Jesse Fuhrmann and his wife Jenny of Belle Plaine, KS, and Tiffany Gould of Jackson, MS; four great grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Lucas, and Axel.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Corbin United Methodist Church in Corbin, KS. Pastor Jacob Maforo will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Corzine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Corbin United Methodist Church and Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Foundation. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
