Opal L. Davis, age 85, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at her home in Wellington. She worked as a housekeeping and laundry supervisor at Cedarview Nursing Home for many years.
Opal L. (Crewse) Davis was born on November 23, 1935 in Wellington, KS to Ernest L. Crewse and Alice Ruthamy (McDannald) Crewse.
Opal married George N. Davis, Jr. on October 18, 1952 in Clinton, MO. George preceded her in death in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, Jr.; granddaughter, Tina Clow; two sisters, Annabelle Crewse and Nadine Harris; and one brother, Eugene Crewse.
Survivors include her three sons, Doyle Davis and Kenny Davis of Wellington, John Davis of Middletown, Ohio; two daughters, Karen Metz and her husband C.B. of Wellington, and Irene Andrews and her husband Philip of Arkansas City, KS; one brother, James Crewse and his wife Teresa of Texas; one sister, Donna Goodman of Hawaii; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at the Oxford Cemetery on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. Mr. C. B. Metz will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
