Opal Maxine Robinson, age 90, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Glenwood House in Wellington, KS. Maxine was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and a Wellington resident for most of her life. During World War II she was an employee of Boeing Aircraft and had also worked as a waitress at Country Acres for many years.
Maxine (Wineinger) Robinson was born on April 5, 1920 in Arkansas City, KS to Clarence E. Wineinger and Grace (Rairdon) Wineinger. She was a Wellington High School graduate with the Class of 1938.
She was a league bowler and a past member and officer of the Rebekah Lodge. She was an animal lover and was always concerned about homeless and abused animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 1987; and one brother, Clarence "Ervin" Wineinger.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Cox and her husband Roger of Wellington, KS; three grandchildren, Dustin Heiman and Beau Heiman of Wellington, KS and Joc Cox and wife Victoria of Wichita, KS; one great granddaughter, Natallie Cox; and special friend, Prissy Cat.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Frank Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning, January 20, 2011 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
